and Honda's joint electric vehicle venture has finally materialized into a purchasable product, with the Afeela 1 opening for pre-orders at CES 2025. Starting at $89,900 for the Origin trim, the luxury electric sedan comes five years after they first unveiled their Vision-S prototype in 2020.
The higher-end Signature trim, priced at $102,900, will begin deliveries in 2026, while the base Origin model will follow in 2027. Initially, sales will be limited to California residents, who can secure their spot with a refundable $200 deposit.
"AFEELA 1 can be called a buddy, combining advanced software with meticulously refined hardware," said Yasuhide Mizuno, CEO of Sony Honda Mobility.
Both versions of the Afeela 1 will include a complimentary three-year subscription package featuring Level 2+ driver assistance technology, an AI-powered personal assistant, and various entertainment features. The vehicle boasts an EPA-estimated range of up to 300 miles and comes equipped with native support for Tesla's Supercharger network.
The production model maintains the sleek design language of its concept predecessors, featuring a long wheelbase and short overhangs. It's outfitted with 40 sensors and cameras for semi-autonomous driving capabilities, all-wheel drive, and a dashboard-spanning display system.
